Miguel Cabrera signs 8 year extension for $248 million with Detroit Tigers
On Friday, Dave Cameron wrote this article on the news that Miguel Cabrera signed an 8 year, $248M extension with the Detroit Tigers. I encourage anyone reading my blog to take a look at what Dave wrote. There is excellent material on why this contract both does and does not make sense for the Tigers.
I had the pleasure of meeting Dave back in October. Along with Dr. Burbridge and a group of 3 or 4 other students, we sat down for lunch before he spoke to the Baseball and Statistics class that I was taking. Since that day, FanGraphs has been my go to site for baseball news and analysis, and Dave is one of my main inspirations for creating this blog.
